Mission Statement
The Planet is a student-produced environmental magazine that
began in 1979 and is supported by Western’s journalism
department and Huxley College of the Environment, one of the
oldest environmental colleges in the country. With a circulation
of 2,000 copies per issue in fall, winter and spring, Planet’s
staff is dedicated to environmental advocacy and awareness
through responsible journalism. Each issue focuses on a unified
environmental theme selected by the students who also write,
edit, design and manage the publication.
